¡Voy a sobrevivir! / I will survive!
In Spanish class we wrote a survival guide for a particular country of our choosing, I wrote about Costa Rica. In our survival guides we had to provide the reader with basic information about the country. For instance time is considered very differently in Costa Rica so I had a section about what to expect when planing dinner.
The most difficult part was the section for time. The part in the middle difficulty was food.
The part that was the most fun was drawing the book. I like the colors.
Estoy orgullos de traduccion. Yo Soy no mui bien en Espanol.
I am most proud of the translations. I am not good ad Spanish.
Aprendí mucho informacion una Costa Rica. Aprendi la cultura de Costa Rica.
I learned alot of information about Costa rica. I leaned the culture of Costa Rica.

Joaquin Murrieta

In this project we touched briefly on the Mexican American war and how Mexicans have been discriminated against by Americans to this day. In this project for Spanish we learned that a corrido is a Spanish folk song that describes a person or even in a story like form. I chose the famous corrido of Joaquin Murrieta because I enjoy old western bandit films and thought it would be fun to talk about in my corrido. Social banditry seemed like it would be a fun theme to talk about.
I drew a wanted poster for this project because I enjoy illustration am good at it. It has been a long time since I have done a full face portrait and going with the western theme decided to use it as a wanted poster.
Three things I learned about grammar when doing this project were using su at the end of a word to say it was his for example. I also learned how to use past imperfect to talk about the hard ships imposed on Joaquin in the past. I also learned past perfect for exact Circumstances. Before doing this project i never knew that there were so many Mexicans who actually agreed with the drug cartels, or that people could be killed for writing a corrido about a drug cartel or killed because they didn't mention a drug cartel. I also did not know that there was still such a great anger focused at Americans from the Mexicans. The hardest part of this project was correcting the spelling errors and grammar errors I had on my first drafts. I overcame this by going slowly and crossing off parts that I had already corrected. Not looking at the whole picture but doing little bits at a time.
